A number of hongkong prize have been given to people from various fields in recognition of their work, including the arts. The HK Arts Award recognizes individuals and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to the art industry. The award also recognizes those who have contributed to the promotion and education of arts in Hong Kong. The HK Arts Prize is awarded in the form of cash grants to support the winners’ creative work, arts projects or further studies.

The HK Arts Awards are presented annually by the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) and the Hong Kong Cultural Development Council. They are designed to reward outstanding achievement, teamwork and excellence in the arts in Hong Kong. The HK Arts Awards are among the most prestigious awards in the city and confer both local and international recognition.

The Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Prize (STIP) was established by BOCHK in 2022 to attract world-class scientists to Hong Kong, support forward-thinking scientists and enable Hong Kong to become an active research hub. A review board comprising an independent Review Committee and a Compliance Oversight Team evaluates candidates based on their scientific research achievements, the application and transformation of these achievements and social or economic value created.

This year, nine artists from Hong Kong were on the shortlist for the HK Art Prize, which was the highest representation from the city in the history of the prize. Nearly two-thirds of the shortlist was women, marking a significant increase from previous years. The HK Art Prize is awarded to an artist who has demonstrated exceptional talent in the field of visual art.

In the race to win the HK prize, trainers are making big bets on their horses. This is especially true of the long-time leader, former champion UK jockey Silvestre De Sousa. He is a frequent visitor to the track and has ridden 14 winners this season, which has been the best of his career.

Other big bets are being placed on the winner of the HK prize. The Longines International Jockeys’ Championship at Happy Valley in December will see the winner take home HK$200,000, with HK$100,000 to the runner-up and HK$50,000 to third place. This is the highest total prize money ever for a single race in the history of the HK prize.

Another top contender is Sammi Cheng, a Cantopop singer with a colourful past that includes arrest for putting a flight attendant in a headlock. His humorous performances have made him one of the most popular comedians in Hong Kong cinema. He is a regular at the annual HK prize ceremony and is considered a celebrity in his own right. He is also the face of the HK prize campaign. He is an advocate of sustainable tourism and promotes environmental protection through his work. His philanthropic efforts are well-known in the community. He has received numerous honours and awards from the HK government and other institutions.
